Our Women’s team are back in action this weekend, as they ramp-up their pre-season preparations with a trip to Featherstone Rovers.
After achieving a playoff position last season, but falling at the semi-final stage, Mike Grady’s side will be looking to go a few steps further in their pursuit of achieving promotion to the Betfred Women’s Super League.
With some exciting new additions complementing an already talented playing squad, there’s certainly a buzz around the place of what the team can achieve in 2025.
This Saturday’s game – set for a 2pm kick-off – is the first chance to see the girls in action, so make sure to head down to the Millennium Stadium (WF7 5EN).
Entry for spectators will be permitted from 12pm, with prices £5 across all age categories, excluding U16s – who can attend for free.
Food and beverage will also BE available on site.
On what he’s expecting from this weekend’s friendly, Head Coach, Mike Grady has said: “I’m looking forward to getting a game under our belts and putting into practice what we have done over the pre-season.
“There are no expectations on us results-wise with it being a friendly, we just want to get used to playing together as a team and getting our combinations right.
“Featherstone is always a tough place to go no matter what the occasion and with them being a Super League side last season it will provide us with a good test to see where we are at as a group.
“We have a number of new exciting players this season, adding to the quality we already had, with new additions to the coaching staff too we are looking forward to the year ahead!”
