THE ORIGINAL RED DEVILS

WHEN IS THE BETFRED CHALLENGE CUP THIRD ROUND DRAW?

Everything you need to know about the upcoming draw for the third round of the 2025 Betfred Challenge Cup.

Salford Red Devils will be one of a multitude of teams entering the competition at this stage, with some Round 1 & 2 ties yet to be played.

Back in 2020, an empty Wembley Stadium played out our last final appearance in rugby league’s most prestigious cup competition – a narrow 17-16 defeat to Leeds Rhinos.

As confirmed earlier last year, like fellow Betfred Super League clubs, we are guaranteed to be facing lower league opposition away from home.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the tomorrow’s draw…

WHEN IS THE DRAW?

The draw will take place on Tuesday 14th January, held at the Spectrum headquarters of competition sponsors, Betfred.

Coverage will begin at 6:30pm, with all twelve Super League clubs – including holders, Wigan Warriors – waiting to learn how their cup campaign will begin.

Bad weather across the UK has caused several Round 1 & 2 ties to be rescheduled and hence, they’ll find out their potential Round 3 opponents tomorrow evening.

All clubs/ties involved in Round 2 will receive a ball number, and they will be picked out first before being pitted against a club from the Super League-only pot.

HOW CAN I WATCH THE DRAW?

The draw will be broadcast live by BBC Sport on iPlayer and Red Button.

Alongside the men’s competition, 2025’s edition of the Women’s Challenge Cup will also kickstart with the group stage draw.

Full reaction will be available on salfordreddevils.com and ticketing information will follow as soon as fixture details are confirmed.
