Weller Hauraki signs contract extension

Salford Red Devils are delighted to have extended the contract of Back Row Forward Weller Hauraki.
Hauraki is the fourth player to have signed a new deal for next season, joining Gareth O’Brien, Ben Murdoch-Masila and Junior Sa’u.
Weller joined Salford from Castleford Tigers in 2015, and has been a main stay in Ian Watson’s Squad, and the Head Coach is pleased to see Hauraki extend his stay with the club, he said;
“Weller is one of senior leaders and it is a real benefit to have in the locker room. He’s shown some really promising form towards the back end of last season and this year in pre-season, and it won’t be long before he is back fit and firing for the Red Devils.”
As players continue to commit to Red Devils going forward, CEO Ian Blease feels that the Foundations are in place for a strong future for the club, he said;
What we are doing here is securing the nucleus of the squad for the long term. We have made huge strides under Ian Watson, and having players like Weller commit to the club shows the ambition of the group. I’m really grateful for the way Weller and his family have worked with us throughout the discussions for this deal. ”

Weller is sponsored by Ph Services.

The Red Devils are next in action on Friday night, away to the Widnes Vikings. Tickets for this game are available by visiting the The Salford Stadium or calling 0161 786 1574.
