Skipper, Kallum Watkins says our pre-season training camp in the Algarve will continue to build the strong bond between his Salford Red Devils teammates.
After day one of our warm-weather preparations, the boys are already feeling the effects of some lengthy sessions in the sun and time together in camp.
Speaking exclusively to our YouTube channel, the skipper was very impressed with the facilities and knows the benefits a week in the sun will bring.
“We got here yesterday and there was a little bit of rain, but we knew the next morning the sun would be popping out and it’s not let us down,” he began.
“It’s good to be down here and get some of our main objectives done, through the pre-season. The ability to come here at such a world-class facility, world-class place to help us prepare for the season, we’re really grateful for that.
“The boys are all enjoying it and long may that continue over the next five days!”
He continued: “We spend a lot of time during pre-season with the boys, but getting away and getting everyone together is really important to continue that relationship with your teammates.
“Enjoying each other’s company, but also working hard on the training ground because we know the start of the season isn’t far away!”
He finished: “A lot of the clubs have done it through the pre-season, so it’s something we wanted to do, we’ve done everything we can to get here, the club have worked hard to do that and the boys are really enjoying it here.”
