Salford Red Devils skipper, Kallum Watkins believes pre-season has actually brought the playing group closer together, but admits he’s now glad they can get on with representing the Club he loves.
That begins tomorrow, where Brad Arthur’s Leeds Rhinos are in town for a Round 2 showdown at the Salford Community Stadium.
Speaking directly after Captain’s run earlier today, Watkins told our YouTube channel: “I think so. It’s a strange one because a lot of people haven’t been through this situation, so it can be quite new to people.
“But Salford have been through their ups and downs, and this has been a period where it’s been difficult, but it shows the resilience of our boys, but the Club as well, the fans who love the Club.
“Me as a kid, I loved coming to the Willows and watching Salford play, watching these boys and wanting to become a rugby league player through Salford.
“It’s a big thing for me, but obviously for the Club, it’s in really good hands now.”
