Following a pitch inspection we can confirm that Friday’s fixture against St Helens will not go ahead.
There are parts of the surface that remain frozen even though it has been covered for more than 10 days. There will now be a pitch inspection on Sunday at 10am and then a further one at noon.
With the current forecast so changeable St Helens are making all efforts to get the game on. At present, if the pitch is playable then the fixture will kick off at 4pm. This decision is to allow the pitch the greatest chance to thaw.
We fully understand the disruption this may cause fans but with a very busy fixture list both clubs are keen to get the game on if we can this weekend We once again thank fans for their understanding and we will continue to update you as soon as we can.
All tickets will remain valid for Sunday’s fixture and, if the game cannot be played on that day, the rearranged fixture.
Any fans who have purchased tickets for the game who cannot make Sunday can get a refund from the The Salford Stadium provided they show their match ticket.
