THE ORIGINAL RED DEVILS

TAZ CORCORAN NAMED SALFORD RED DEVILS WOMEN CAPTAIN

We are delighted to reveal Taz Corcoran has been named the new Salford Red Devils Women captain.

An ever-present since the women’s teams’ inception, Corcoran has made the step-up to captain following the departure of Louise Fellingham.

She will be joined by Alex Simpson and Steph Gray as part of a three-woman leadership group – two players with vast amounts of experience and well-respected amongst the group.

Corcoran won Women’s Coaches’ of Year in 2022 after an inaugural campaign where our women’s team won the League Cup and League Leaders Shield double.

She also picked-up Hit-Women of the Year in 2023.

On becoming club captain, Corcoran has said: “I’m very proud to step-up to this role. Being captain isn’t about giving orders, it’s about listening and supporting the team!”

On his decision to appoint the number nine as skipper, Head Coach, Mike Grady has also said: “First of all, congratulations to all the players in our leadership group.

“Taz will captain the group, She is a vocal leader and an infectious character – well respected by the group, and leads by example every training session.

“Alex will be vice-captain. Again, Alex leads by example and is a real student of the game. She sets really high standards and pushes herself, and the group to be continuously better.

“Steph will be our club captain and is currently working with the staff in a coaching capacity,

“Steph is a very knowledgable rugby league player and she is passing on these skills through her coaching. She is keen, enthusiastic and always brings new ideas to the table.

“I’m looking forward to working with them all this season.”
