THE ORIGINAL RED DEVILS

Squad | Salford land Turgut

Salford Red Devils can confirm the capture of Jansin Turgut on a short-term deal until the end of the 2018 season.
Turgut came through the ranks at fellow Betfred Super League club Hull FC for whom he has appeared over 20 times since making his debut in 2015 against Leeds Rhinos.
He has since spent time on loan with Doncaster RLFC and Featherstone Rovers.
Head Coach Ian Watson said: “We were looking for an outside back and Jansin’s name came up and he’s played a little bit of centre as well as second-rower which adds some utility value to our squad.
“He’s backed himself to come down here and prove his Betfred Super League credentials as he’s on the lookout for a new club next year.
“He’s a former England Academy captain which indicates he has leadership qualities and one thing that has always impressed me about Jansin is his work ethic which is key in our environment.
“He always runs his blood to water, never lets his teammates down and it’s great we’ve been able to bring some young hungry lads into our squad. Hopefully we can integrate him into our systems and plays quickly and he can put in some top performances for Salford.”
Director of Rugby and Operations, Ian Blease, said: “We’re pleased to have been able to bring Jansin in.
“It’s important that we bolster our squad as much as we can going into The Qualifiers and Jansin will definitely do that.
“He’s got a decent amount of Betfred Super League experience from his time with Hull FC and adds another option in our pack for the final games of the 2018 season.
“I’d also like to thank James Clark at Hull FC for working with us closely on this move.”
Turgut will be available for selection for our Qualifiers fixtures beginning with Hull Kingston Rovers at KCOM Craven Park on Friday 10th August.
