Prop, Brad Singleton says he feels in fantastic physical condition as week two of pre-season comes to a close.
The Cumbrian-born forward quickly became a leader among the group, particularly the forwards during his 18-month stint at the Red Devils.
A mid-season signing from Wigan Warriors, Singleton has won the hearts of the Salford faithful with his hard-working displays in the middle.
In our playoff eliminator clash with Leigh Leopards, the veteran brought up his 300th appearance – just another accolade of his highly decorated career.
Speaking exclusively to our YouTube channel, Singleton says he is happy with how 2025’s preparations are coming along and feels in brilliant shape on a personal note.
“You know what you do! I feel probably the best I’ve felt in years, and it’s really exciting,” he said when asked if he was looking forward to the upcoming campaign.
“I think it’s just starting again, getting back with the lads and chasing that goal of getting up the Super League ladder – it’s always exciting and refreshing.
“I always think you can’t win anything in pre-season, but you can lose it. So I think it’s vital for the team to bond really, and you get them little connections, and it’s the foundations you base your game on, and then build from that.”
Paul Rowley’s side enjoyed a successful season on the pitch, defying any pre-season predictions, but winners like Singleton are always targeting more, and he has explained how the team can take the next steps.
“I think it’s just being aware of what went well, what games we probably fell short in,” he explained.
“I think we probably blindsided the Super League in terms of finishing fourth because there was a lot of high expectation for a lot of teams, and we probably got above them.”
“But within those four walls we probably didn’t go as well as we could have. I think we had more to give in the playoffs, and we probably fell short of our own expectations.
“It’ll be the same again. I think people from the outside with everything that’s going on will probably put us near the bottom, but we’ll remain confident in what we’ve got.”
One addition to the forward pack this year is France international, Justin Sangaré, who has plenty of potential to develop his game under our coaching trio.
“I think what you see is what you get. If you can get him playing happy and working to his strengths, then he’s going to be a big obstacle to take on,” Singleton said about his newest teammate.
“He’s a big boy, he’s probably got a good offload and stuff like that, but the most important thing is that he’s fit right into the group, he seems a lovely lad.”
