It’s time to vote for your September Player of the Month.
With four intense games in the space of 20 days, our players were tested to the maximum as the 2024 season reached its climax.
Starting with two incredible victories over Catalans Dragons and Hull FC, which ultimately secured our spot in the top four, and booked a home Eliminator clash.
Round 27 saw Paul Rowley opt to rest key personnel for our upcoming playoff game and handed eight Betfred Super League debuts to some of our young talent.
Despite defeat to Wigan Warriors, who were crowned League Leaders that evening, the Salford stars of the future showed incredible spirit and gave a glimpse into what they could possibly add to the first grade squad in years to come.
September culminated in a fierce playoff clash with Leigh Leopards, in front of a record crowd at the Salford Community Stadium.
In a tight game, Edwin Ipape stole the show for the visitors and took the contest away from Salford with a flurry of second-half tries.
However, our Head Coach and his team can look back on 2024 with immense pride, as they once again defied the odds to compete amongst the league’s best.
In our final four matches of the season, three individuals stood-out for their performances.
Perhaps of one of the signings of the season, Joe Mellor is nominated once more and will be looking for back-to-back accolades following his triumph in August.
The hooker has been outstanding all season and his three tries across the month were typical Mellor – scooting from dummy-half to leave defences dumbfounded.
Our next nominee is another excellent addition to our team in 2024, Ethan Ryan.
An ever-present on the wing, Ryan has got better and better each week and his teammates often speak glowingly about his contribution to the team in both attack, and defence.
It’s a similar story with our final nominee of the season, Deon Cross.
An incredible professional and someone who despite spending two years at centre has adapted back to his more natural wing position with ease.
