Ahead of their first pre-season friendly on Sunday afternoon, our official squad numbers for the 2024 women’s team have been confirmed.
A fresh-looking side, under the guidance of new Head Coach, Mike Grady, are ready to compete in the Championship and Betfred Challenge Cup across 2024, with the ultimate aim of returning to the Betfred Women’s Super League.
Exciting new additions including star halfback, Michelle Davis, who arrives at the club following a glittering spell at Warrington Wolves, where she was influential during the club’s rise in the women’s game.
She played a huge role in their promotion to Super League in 2019 and was appointed club captain shortly after. In 2022, she was recognised as the league’s leading points scorer after another dominant promotion campaign.
After spells in the National Performance squad during her time at Wigan Warriors, Davis made her full international debut for England Community Lions on 16th November 2019.
Familiar faces are aplenty amongst the squad, however.
Irish international fullback, Luci McKeown will continue as our number one, with Welsh international, Becki Davies taking the number 5 as she gears for her first full season after ACL surgery.
Steph Gray and Alex Simpson stay at three and four, with Taz Corcoran at nine.
Prop duo, Abi Collins and Summer Harris are also promoted to eight and ten respectively.
