Head Coach, Paul Rowley says his team are excited to get the 2025 Betfred Super League season underway after a uncertain, but positive pre-season.
A consortium, led by businessman Dario Berta, completed a full 100% purchase of the Club last week – signalling a new era for Salford Red Devils.
However, despite all the turbulence, our Head Coach says the group have trained well all pre-season and are looking forward to kickstarting their campaign this Saturday.
“It feels like it’s been a long season – already,” he began.
“We’ve trained well, we’ve had a good pre-season in each other’s company. Obviously, the outside noise has been difficult to control but we’re here at the start line and we’re just looking forward to getting started.”
On our Round 1 opponents, Rowley is expected the best version of a team which he describes has been ‘the benchmark’ for so long.
He said: “For so long they’ve been the benchmark, we’ve all aspired to be St Helens. Wigan – throw Warrington in the mix – Catalans even, they’ve been consistent performers for a long period of time both on the field and off the field.
“That’s no coincidence, they’re well-run businesses that have a good foundation of youth within the club, so St Helens will never be far away from success, and we expect to see them at their best, focused, and motivated to fill that trophy cabinet back up.
“We expect the best of St Helens, which is always an aggressive team and one that likes to play on the front foot, so it’s going to be very challenging and you’ve got to be ready for a physical battle, and be committed in that area.”
