Head Coach, Paul Rowley has challenged his team to have confidence in their ability to stay in the arm wrestle ahead of a second trip to Catalans Dragons in the space of a fortnight.
The Reds are out for revenge after Les Dracs won a bruising contest in the South of France earlier this month, securing a spot in the Betfred Challenge Cup semi-finals.
Steve McNamara’s side have seen a resurgence in form since a tough opening to their Super League season and will look to secure a third win in four games when the Reds visit the Brutus.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, our Head Coach was asked what learning the team could take from our previous encounter with the Dragons.
He said: “Well obviously having a little bit more belief sometimes goes a long way. A little bit more courage in our convictions sometimes and the usual thing that has probably hit us a bit in the last few weeks has been completion.
“Complete a little bit higher and have a bit more confidence that we’re quite capable of sitting in an arm wrestle for periods rather than rush and panic, and score at every opportunity.
“Certainly from last week against Leeds, we made enough line breaks, particularly in that first-half and created enough opportunities that with a little bit more patience and confidence we can sit in an arm wrestle, then we get a better outcome.
“We’re having a dig, so if we have a dig this time you give yourself an opportunity, but we expect Catalans to be a lot better as well, so the task will get tougher, not easier.”
