ROWLEY FEELS SALFORD ALLOWED CATALANS TO BE DOMINANT IN QUARTER-FINAL DEFEAT

Head Coach, Paul Rowley has gave his reflections on our Betfred Challenge Cup quarter-final defeat against Catalans Dragons last night.

Joe Shorrocks and Matty Foster were on target for the Reds, but a physical and error-strung contest swung in the Dragons favour come the full-time hooter.

Summarising the game, our Head Coach started: “There were some good bits for us and some bad bits for us as well.

“Catalans are very dominant physically. I felt that we allowed them to be dominant in that first-half in particular and then we had a ten-minute spell where, fair play to the resilience we showed on goal-line D, we gave ourselves a chance by scoring a try in that first-half.

“And then believing in ourselves a bit that we can cope with an arm wrestle. Respecting possession a bit more was key today, which we didn’t do and then we would have scored points…”
