We are delighted to confirm Paul Rowley has been nominated for Coach of the Year.
It is the third consecutive season our boss has been in the running for this prestigious award and joins Matt Peet, Willie Peters and Mike Eccles in the final four.
The winner will be crowned at Rugby League’s Awards Night next Tuesday (October 8) at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.
Yet again, our Head Coach defied any pre-season predictions to secure a fourth-place finish, where we hosted Leigh Leopards in a home Playoff Eliminator clash.
Rowley’s coaching acumen has always shone through in his team’s performances on the field, but his elite man management continues to regularly bring out the best in players who may have been cast away from other clubs.
Throughout the 2024 Super League season there have been countless memorable moments.
Back in Round 4, Deon Cross’ 78th-minute winner secured a first away victory against St Helens for over 44 years, where we then backed it up at home with an equally dramatic winner by Chris Hankinson.
Amassing 16 victories from our 27 regular season games, other notable highlights include a double over Warrington Wolves, a hard-fought home victory against Hull KR and a 50-point thrashing of Huddersfield Giants in late August.
Rowley’s Reds also broke a Club record for the most home wins in a Super League season – reaching 11 with an ultimately playoff-sealing victory against Catalans Dragons in Round 25.
It has been a season to remember and one where Rowley and the other two corners of his coaching trio – Kurt Haggerty and Krisnan Inu – deserve a huge amount of credit.
We’d like to congratulate our Head Coach on his fantastic achievement!
