Salford Red Devils have appointed Jake Batsford as the Club’s new assistant strength and conditioner.
Having worked alongside head coach Richard Marshall and head of strength & conditioning Gareth Whittaker at Warrington Wolves, Batsford’s appointment has reunited the three and should help secure a solid foundation within the coaching staff.
Batsford said: “I’m excited and it’s a massive challenge as Salford have done really well the past few seasons so it’s trying to build on the success they’ve had.
“I’ve worked with some of the guys in the past, Richard and Gareth, so when the opportunity arose to work with them again I couldn’t turn it down.
“I know how they both like to work, which makes that transition a little bit easier.”
Speaking on the appointment, Whittaker said: “Jake is a valuable asset and brings with him a really good strength background.
“Having known Jake for around ten years, I am very confident that we will be able to work well together.”
Marshall added: “The addition of Jake as assistant strength and conditioner is an excellent piece of business as he is someone who brings in some valuable experience.
“His ability to analyse and work through our GPS metrics will take our group to the next level, in turn raising our fitness levels.”
Supporters can join the new coaching staff on their first season at the The Salford Stadium, by purchasing a 2021 season ticket. Further details can be found HERE
Director of rugby & operations Ian Blease added: “The appointment of Jake just adds to the wealth of knowledge and experience now present within the club setup.
“The fact that Richard, Jake and Gareth have all worked together previously will help to establish a strong unit and this is the final piece of our boot room jigsaw for now.”
