THE ORIGINAL RED DEVILS

Minutes applause to take place prior to the Swinton game

There will be a minutes applause at Sunday’s pre-season friendly against Swinton Lions in memory of Fred Smith, Alan McInnes, Hugh Duffy, Tommy Grainey, Gary Lloyd and Kato Ottio.
Former players Fred Smith, Alan McInnes and Hugh Duffy all sadly passed away before the New Year and will all be remembered prior to our game on Sunday.
Tommy Grainey, who was the Assistant Coach to Kevin Ashcroft throughout the 1980’s, passed away last week and will also be remembered in our minutes applause.
Gary Lloyd passed away last year and was a long-time sponsor, box holder and supporter of the Red Devils while Widnes Vikings player and Papua New Guinea international Kato Ottio passed away yesterday before flying out to compete in this year’s Super League.
All of the above will be sadly missed with Salford Red Devils extending their sympathies to all their family, friends and loved ones.
All will be remembered with a minutes applause prior to kick-off on Sunday afternoon so we ask that all fans are in their seats early with the game set to kick-off at 1pm.
