MIKE GRADY APPOINTED SALFORD RED DEVILS WOMEN HEAD COACH

We are thrilled to reveal the appointment of Mike Grady as the new Salford Red Devils Women Head Coach.

He will begin work with his new squad in pre-season, looking to build-on the progress made and earn promotion back to the Betfred Women’s Super League.

Grady has worked in rugby league his entire life at both club and international level, bringing a wealth of experience to such an exciting role.

In 2014, he landed his first Head Coach role at South Wales Scorpions, where he was nominated for Championship 1 Coach of the Year.

Grady accepted an Assistant Coach role at Newcastle Thunder, before moving on to become Head Coach of North Wales Crusaders.

After a stint at Cru, where he reached the League One Cup final, he was part of the coaching team that led Rochdale Hornets to the League One semi-final.

He then joined John Kear at Widnes Vikings as Assistant Coach, alongside a role as Head Coach of the Spanish National Team

In reaction to joining the club, Mike has said: ” I am delighted and excited to be given this opportunity to become Head Coach of the Women’s side, and to be part of such an iconic club like Salford.

“It was an opportunity I could not turn down and I can’t wait to get started, and for the season ahead!”

Managing Director, Paul King has added: “We are really pleased about Mike’s appointment.

“After speaking to him about the role and our ambitions with the Women’s team, I was impressed by his enthusiasm to develop a rapidly growing part of our club.

“From the Girls Development Academy, through to the first-grade, Mike is keen to get involved and create a pathway for young girls to be the next stars of Salford Red Devils.

“He brings with him a wealth of experience at both club and international level, so I am excited to see what we can achieve together!”

Women’s rugby league is growing at a rapid rate and this is the perfect chance to get involved.
