Salford Red Devils fell to a 34-2 defeat against Huddersfield Giants in Round 4 of the Betfred Super League this afternoon, with the Giants recording their first home victory over Salford since 2013.
Salford’s only points of the game came after seven minutes – Marc Sneyd converting a kick after the Red Devils were awarded a penalty and opted for the two.
The hosts responded two minutes later with a try – Will Pryce dancing through the Salford defensive line to go over to the right of the sticks.
Huddersfield struck again in the 33rd minute through Chris McQueen, who dived onto the end of a grubber kick in the in-goal area.
The remaining few minutes of the first half following McQueen’s try, saw Ryan Lannon see yellow and the hosts extend their lead with a penalty goal kicked by Pryce.
