MACDONALD EXCITED TO BE BACK FOR 2025

Star centre, Nene Macdonald has spoke of his excitement to be back around his teammates as they gear up for another Betfred Super League season.

The 30-year-old, alongside Tim Lafai, returned to the fold on Friday after an extended off-season break, due to his international commitments.

Macdonald starred in the recent Pacific Championships, where Papua New Guinea thrashed Fiji and the Cook Islands to reach a promotion/relegation showdown with New Zealand.

Despite defeat, the centre, deployed at fullback, was at his destructive best and showed the world what the Salford faithful have become so accustom to all 2024.

Speaking to our YouTube channel on whether his season defied even his expectations, Macdonald said: “Yeah it definitely shot higher than I though it would.

“I think it’s a big thanks to the Club and the boys. The coaching staff allowed me to express myself throughout the year and play the footy I wanted to play.

“It allowed me to be at my best and it’s just a massive thanks to the Club, and everyone here!”
