We are delighted to reveal young halfback, Kai Morgan has signed a one-year contract extension.
He will subsequently spend the rest of 2024 out on loan at Halifax Panthers in the Betfred Championship, with a Club option to recall his should playing time be limited.
A product of amateur club, Siddal, Morgan progressed through the youth ranks at Leeds Rhinos and featured in their 2022 Academy Grand Final success over St Helens.
The 20-year-old joined the club from the Rhinos in pre-season and has been involved with the first-team set-up for the entire season.
Morgan’s development has continued to show plenty of promise and he was handed his Betfred Super League debut against Hull KR in Round 3.
Alongside his day-by-day training with Paul Rowley’s squad, the youngster has also enjoyed regular game time in the Reserves’ set-up.
He will now continue that progress for a further season, where he has the ability to pick the brains of one of Super League’s greatest halfbacks, Marc Sneyd.
On penning a one-year extension, Morgan has said: “Grateful to extend my time at this great club. It was an easy decision for me and I’m excited to see what we can do this year and next.
“Thanks to all the coaches, staff and the lads for making my first year so enjoyable and let’s hope we finish strong this year.”
Head Coach, Paul Rowley has added: “It is very pleasing that Kai will remain a Red Devil going forward. Since joining he has worked to a consistently high standard and always applies himself with 100% commitment.
“Myself, the staff and all the group are delighted that Kai will continue his journey with us!”
Everyone at the Club would like to send our congratulations to Kai on his new deal and wish him good luck on his short loan move.
