THE ORIGINAL RED DEVILS

JUNE PLAYER OF THE MONTH NOMINEES REVEALED

It’s time to select June’s Player of the Month.

The Reds were tasked with navigating three Betfred Super League fixtures last month; two games against St Helens sandwiched in between a meeting with Hull FC.

Our two home games showed glimpses of promise, and with loan signings introduced to the team, new combinations started to form that could produce longer-term results.

However, experienced players who have been ever-present performers continued to set the standard across June, with younger players in the team also showing the hunger and desire to seize their opportunity.

One of them is last month’s first nominee, Sam Hill. The Academy prospect was handed a chance to make his Super League debut a week prior against the Wigan Warriors, but the following week against Saints produced a moment he’ll never forget.

With just minutes left on the clock, Hill picked up a goal-line drop-out and came up with a magical chip-and-chase to get Salford within range. A few plays later, some neat shape left the youngster as the spare man to dot down his first senior try.

That, plus his brave all-round performances, has earned Hill a well-deserved nomination.

Another month, another nomination for Jack Ormondroyd, whose form has not dipped once since the start of 2025, producing imperious displays in the middle.

Often playing long minutes, the 33-year-old is vying to win the award for the second time after picking up April’s accolade. His leadership qualities have come to the fore throughout this period and no doubt he’ll be in the running for the Club’s end of season awards in a few months.

The final nominee for June is Joe Shorrocks, who has received much praise for his versatility and tireless work rate for the team during such a tough period.

Naturally a loose-forward, Shorrocks has played hooker, halfback and back-row over the last few months to cover for injury trouble and a lack of senior, experienced bodies in the squad.

So, who takes home the award this month. Have your day in the poll below!
