You have voted Joe Mellor as August’s Player of the Month.
He has fought-off close competition from teammates, Ethan Ryan and Shane Wright, who have both also enjoyed stellar individual months.
The 33-year-old has been an excellent addition to the team in 2024 and has had to adapt from his natural halfback role to operate at hooker.
He’s done that to a really high standard, particularly during the second-half of this season.
Mellor recently hit an impressive landmark of 100 career tries, but he hasn’t stopped there. Further scores, including a crucial winner against Leeds Rhinos, have proven his threat and deception around the ruck.
He also began and finished a lovely short side move against Hull KR in Round 24, linking up with Ryan to hand us an early lead at Craven Park.
In reaction to picking up the award, Mellor has said: “Thank you for the votes, I appreciate it. I am really enjoying my rugby at the moment and playing within a great group of lads.
“I’m looking forward to the next couple of weeks, let’s see what happens!”
