Salford Red Devils newest arrival Jackson Hastings is set to debut tomorrow evening against Leeds Rhinos and their Director of Rugby Kevin Sinfield who the Australian half speaks very highly of.
Hastings, sponsored by Advanced Steel, said: “I grew up watching Leeds and the likes of Danny McGuire, Kevin Sinfield and Rob Burrows – they were sort of the reason I started watching the Betfred Super League.
“I was lucky enough to listen to a speech that Kevin Sinfield presented to the team while I was at Sydney Roosters and just the way he spoke made me realise just how highly respected he is over here and definitely in Australia, also.
“To come up against Leeds on Friday night is going to be a tough task.
“They’re not in the greatest position and I suppose they’re not use to that because they’re such a successful club and demand success.
“They’ve got two quality halves that I’m going up against as well so there’s plenty of challenges but I’m excited to put the red jersey on and have a crack.”
