Assistant Coach, Krisnan Inu says the club can always trust Marc Sneyd to make a difference with the boot.
The England international was one of the standout performers against Castleford Tigers, earning a spot in the Betfred Super League Team of the Week.
His kicking, both in-play and from the tee, was eventually the difference on the scoreboard, as Salford Red Devils claimed their first two points of 2024.
Before another big fixture against Hull KR, Inu was asked about the importance of our number seven: “Sneydy’s the ultimate professional,” he told the press.
“He knows his body, he knows how he wants the game played and when things are going his way – and when the game plan is followed – he’s at his best.
“He steers the ship well and it’s good to have him.”
As a former goal kicker himself, Inu knows the pressure associated with converting in the toughest environments.
“It does play a big part and when you’ve got a high calibre kicker like Sneydy,” he continued.
“You can always trust him to add the extras, whether it’s a conversion or a penalty. We value his skill and especially his goal-kicking abilities.”
Moving on to talk about KR, Inu said the squad had time to enjoy the win, but attentions were quickly turned to their big Round 3 task.
“It’s always a good start to the week after a win.
“Like I said last week, we’re over that now and we’re focusing on Hull KR; so the buzz lasts, we enjoyed it, but it’s time to move on now, ” Inu concluded.
