Assistant Coach, Krisnan Inu says the Reds are ‘ready for the fight’ this Sunday when Hull FC rolls into town.
It’s the first meeting of 2025 between the two sides, with the Black & White’s currently sat in sixth place and looking to maintain a spot in the playoff positions. However, recent history is on Salford’s side.
In fact, we have won each of our last five Super League games against FC, only ever recording more consecutive victories in the competition against London Broncos (8 – 2013-2024).
Earlier this week, both Dan Russell and Tom Whitehead have joined the Club on loan from Warrington Wolves and add some much-needed reinforcements to the back-row.
There’s some familiar faces on the FC team, with Cade Cust and Amir Bourouh enjoying positives starts to life on Humberside.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, when asked to preview the game, Inu said: “They’ve been playing well this year, they’ve had a good start and had a few injuries themselves -the same as us. We’re still expecting a good team, they’ve got a good squad, so we’ll be ready for the fight this weekend.”
Our Assistant Coach also gave a quick update on our injury situation: “Joe’s (Mellor) looking alright – we’ll see how he goes during the week and see if he’s ready come weekend. Kai – he’s okay – he just wanted a breather by the looks of it.”
