The last 18 months has been an incredibly challenging period for the club and although we expected by now to be back to some sort of normality with the return to crowds, we are still facing huge obstacles working around the pandemic.
For all of 2020 we avoided an outbreak and despite rigorous testing and significant restrictions on behaviour this year, we have unfortunately found ourselves in a situation, twice, where we have been unable to compete due to the protocols we have to adhere to.
The cost of holding the Wakefield game at Warrington and the loss of the Hull KR game have had a detrimental damage on the club’s finances and seriously impacts cashflow and prevents us from moving as swiftly as we had hoped in other areas of the business.
We understand as season ticket holders that the changes in fixture dates and places can be very frustrating. We too share that frustration and just wanted to assure you all we are doing our utmost to play every game to the best of our ability and we thank you for your understanding.
We hope to reschedule the games we have missed for later on in the season and we will keep you all informed as to when we will expect to confirm them. This in turn though could mean other fixtures will need to shift to accommodate them, with a suitable turnaround period in between matches.
Overall, with the continued efforts in the vaccination program and lessening of social distancing restrictions, we seem to be quite near the finish line in overcoming this dreadful pandemic.
We hope our players, staff and anyone else out there suffering with COVID-19 have a speedy recovery as our focus looks to Huddersfield Giants on the 15th August and the return of former head coach Ian Watson to the The Salford Stadium.
Huddersfield tickets are now on sale and can be purchased for the West and South stands from £20 per adult. Ticket prices will increase on the day, so we encourage anyone to buy early! Now that crowds are unrestricted, it’s a perfect opportunity to catch up with friends and family.
We would urge you to encourage all to come down for the Huddersfield game, to ensure we continue to move in the right direction as a club and come out of this closer as a community and stronger in our efforts to compete at the very top level, on and off the field.
Season ticket holders DO NOT need to apply. Simply show up to the Huddersfield game with either your season ticket card or mobile digital ticket to gain entry.
We have also received an allocation from Leigh Centurions for our away game at Leigh Sports Village on Sunday 22nd August. Our allocation is for the South Stand.
All under 16s must purchase their tickets before the day of the game – they will not be issued on game day nor will there be any cash turnstiles on the day.
Don’t forget, Salford retain 25% commissions on all tickets we sell for away clashes, so go to Event Information ScreenThe Red Devils RLFC (eticketing.co.uk) and purchase yours now.
Alternatively, if you struggle with the online system or you need a wheelchair bay, you can call the ticket office on 0161 786 1570 or email ticketoffice@ajbellstadium.co.uk with your details for a call back.
For anyone that needs to collect from the stadium, the AJ Bell is open between the hours of 10am-4pm, Monday to Friday. Please familiarise yourself with the stadium’s Code of Conduct.
We are also awaiting Wigan tickets to arrive which will go on sale as soon as we have all the details.
In the meantime, stay safe and we simply cannot wait to see you all back at the The Salford Stadium very soon! |
