Salford Red Devils CEO Ian Blease has released the following message to the supporters, ahead of this Friday’s trip to Widnes Vikings.
“Following on from a fantastic win at home against Castleford on Sunday, it is hugely important that as a club we use this momentum to push on for the rest of the season, both on and off the field.
Coach Watson has assembled a team that are 100% committed to the cause and are desperate to make this season memorable for all of the right reasons.
On Sunday, the noise generated by the Salford Red Devils supporters visibly lifted the team at key moments in the game, and we need you to do the same again, in numbers, on Friday as we take on the Widnes Vikings.
Despite the result, we were disappointed with home attendance, and this is where we need your help, as messengers for the club, to help us grow in numbers moving forwards.
Our visitors on Sunday, Castleford, set an extremely high standard for travelling support, and I am confident that with the passion that exists for the Red Devils amongst our supporters, we too can take large numbers on the road, to back the side as they look for another win.
Under the new RFL guidelines, we receive 25% of any away tickets that we sell ourselves, as apposed to 10% in previous seasons. Therefore it is more important than ever that we get a good following home and away.
I feel that as a club, we are starting to make really positive strides in all areas, and with your help, we can make that continue on Friday night. See you there.
Up the Red Devils.
Ian Blease
