The newest member of our women’s coaching team, Dave Hewitt is embracing the change after calling time on his professional playing career.
Hewitt was highly rated amongst his peers, with many, including rugby league icon, Barrie McDermott noting his ability to take on the line and engage defenders.
Alongside a now-four-person coaching team, he is now looking to bring that skill and experience to our attack as the 2025 Championship season begins on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to us for the first time, Hewitt said: “It’s different for me; I’ve played the game for 20, 25 years, 10 years semi-pro level, so it’s been a big difference for me, but I’m enjoying it so far, it’s a different challenge.
“You get in that routine of playing sometimes and get stuck in your ways. So to come into coaching it’s out of my comfort zone, but I am enjoying it so far.”
