Assistant Coach, Kurt Haggerty was full of praise for his forward pack after 80-minute performances from Jack Ormondroyd and Chris Hill.
With squad selection already limited, losing Joe Bullock before the game and Chris Hankinson during the game to injury was a massive blow to Salford in such a physical contest.
But faced with a huge challenge, Ormondroyd and Hill stood up the task and produced monstrous performances in the middle, with no break.
Deputising for Head Coach, Paul Rowley, who came to the game fresh from major shoulder surgery, Haggerty was quick to praise the aforementioned pair for their efforts.
In response to being asked whether the spirit in the camp can ever be questioned after Friday nights’ performance, he replied: “No. When you’ve got your 37-year-old front rower and another 33-year-old front rower playing 80 minutes, I think it shows the spirit in the camp.
“I thought them two in particular, the way they stood up in an adverse situation was amazing. I think they set the benchmark for the game for us.”
