Women’s Head Coach, Mike Grady has vowed his team are ‘in it to win it’ ahead of facing Wakefield Trinity in Sunday’s Challenge Shield action.
After a successful start to their Championship campaign – a 12-4 win over Sheffield Eagles – attentions have firmly turned to a potentially congested cup run.
Should the girls win on Sunday afternoon, the next round would be on a weekly basis, all the way until the final – scheduled for May 11th.
The first task is a Wakey side who easily dispatched Halifax away from home, so our Head Coach knows what sort of test they’ll be for his team.
Speaking ahead of the game, Grady was asked what sort of opportunity the cup brings: “We’re just looking for a good run, and hopefully winning it – we’re in it to win it,” he began.
“It’s going to be a tough start against Wakefield, who have had some really good results recently, so we know we’re going to be up for a tough challenge.
“But it’s up to the side, up to the players to step up and hopefully have a good cup run.”
