We have been delighted to host the Salford Red Devils Rising Stars programme half term programme at the Salford Community Stadium this week.
The Rising Stars programme is an open access player development programme for boys and girls of all abilities and experience levels from 12 years old to 16 years old.
This week’s February half term player development camps are one aspect of the 2025 programme, which has seen almost 400 young people attending training sessions delivered by Salford Red Devils Foundation staff.
The Rising Stars programme has been an integral part of our Player Pathway programme in recent years, with a number of players in our Scholarship, Development Academy, Elite Academy and Reserve teams beginning their journey with the club on the programme.
Current first grade squad members Nathan Connell and Charlie Glover are prime examples of using the Rising Stars programme as a springboard to progressing through our Player Pathway programme.
Paul Trainor, Director of Foundation and Rugby Partnerships, said: “We are delighted with the number of young people who have taken part in the Rising Stars programme so far in 2025.
“It has been great to see so many attending the half term sessions this week. The coach-ability, commitment, attitude and energy of the boys and girls who have attended this week has been great to see.
“I would also like to pay tribute to the family members who have supported their children to attend the sessions, with many staying to watch the sessions.”
