FOUNDATION ISSUE HUGE THANKS

Salford Red Devils Foundation would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who has come forward with offers of alternative transport to allow their Learning Disability Rugby League team to feature at Magic Weekend.
While notice is too short for updated risk assessments and consent forms to be processed to allow the full team to travel, some members will now have the opportunity to take part in the showpiece event.
A Just Giving appeal has been set up to allow the foundation to purchase a new minibus and ensure these opportunities will always be open to those involved in foundation programmes.
Neil Blackburn, manager of Salford Red Devils Foundation, said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the response from other organisations and individuals.
“While it’s a shame that the full group won’t be able to attend, we’re thrilled that some of them will now have the chance to make the most of this opportunity.
“Seeing all the messages of support has been heartwarming and reinforces that there is support for our fledgling group, who are only just coming together.
He added: “Unfortunately we’re still in the situation where we’re without a long-term solution, so any assistance there would be greatly appreciated.
“We’re only a small charity, so incidents out of our control like the theft, will always be an obstacle.
“We’ve set up a Just Giving page to help us raise funds for a new bus now, so hopefully we can get back to running at full capacity soon.”
Salford Red Devils Foundation’s next LDRL session will be held at 6:30pm on Monday 3rd June at the The Salford Stadium.
The sessions are open to anyone aged 14+, without any need for previous experience. For further details and to confirm your attendance, please email: neil.blackburn@salfordreddevils.com
