With this week’s fixture against Castleford Tigers being our inclusivity round, the club is delighted to announce we will be trialing Fan Link Radios to improve the match day experience for those that experience visual impairment – and are inviting fans to come forward and take part in the trial.
Fan Link radios are specially designed devices that provide live commentary and updates directly to users. They offer real-time, detailed descriptions of the on-field action, enabling fans to visualise the game through words. The commentary will be from the live broadcast that Sky Sports produce for TV.
The trial of Fan Link radios is part of a broader commitment by the club to enhance accessibility. The radios reflect the club’s ongoing dedication to inclusivity, and making sure that everyone can enjoy watching Rugby League. These radios have also been used in Rugby Union and have been advantageous for fans, should they miss any action during the game.
We have eight Fan Link Radios to trial for tomorrow’s game. If you experience and visual impairment and would like to take part in the trial, then please email enquiries@salfordreddevils.com with the subject line ‘FAN RADIO TRIAL’, providing your contact details in the email.
The radios will be on a first come first serve basis.
