Player of the Match, Anna Dennis believes our opening day victory against Sheffield Eagles gives the team something to build on for the rest of the season.
Taking a staggering 24 carries from fullback, the star of the show capped her magnificent display by bagging a game-deciding try.
Despite a late rally from the Eagles, Dennis’ try – alongside a first back in Salford colours for Louise Fellingham – was enough to secure a huge two points.
Speaking after the game, Dennis said: “I’m proud of the girls. I’ve only been here a short while, but we’ve dug in for each other and I think that’s what matters – it’s something we can build on.”
“It’s a great start to the season – I couldn’t ask for more!”
Assistant Coach, Armani Sharrock also gave her reaction to game, but paid a special tribute to today’s POTM: “She’s just different class. She just understands the game, a play ahead every time,” she said
“I think today she got that little bit of joy in broken field and she did a lot of work for our middles, took a lot of carries out of yardage and really made their jobs a lot easier.
“But I just think she was great on both sides of the ball.”
