DAN SARGINSON BAN OVERTURNED

Salford Red Devils’ Dan Sarginson has today (Tuesday 29 September) had a two-match ban for a reckless high tackle on Hull FC’s Jamie Shaul overturned on appeal.
This means Sarginson is available for Saturday’s Coral Challenge Cup semi-final.
An independent tribunal decided that the tackle was ‘careless’ rather than ‘reckless’ and downgraded the offence from Grade B to A, which does not carry a suspension.
Sarginson’s teammate Luke Yates has lost his appeal against the one match penalty imposed yesterday (Monday 28 September) by the RFL’s Match Review Panel.
An independent tribunal today re-affirmed the panel’s view that Yates was guilty of a Grade B Dangerous Contact with Hull FC’s Danny Houghton during last week’s Betfred Super League fixture.
Yates will now serve a one-match suspension and has also been fined £500.
