This weekend, the Salford Red Devils community coaching apparel was delivered in Accra, the capital of Ghana, to an incredibly talented group of Rugby League Federation Ghana (RLFG) staff.
In 2022, the development team will be aiming to reach over 3000 participants in Ghana in a range of activities from schools, clubs, military and indeed to the pinnacle of the Ghana national team, in preparation for the Middle East Africa Rugby League Championships in September.
The community coaching team is composed of players, club managers, committee members and dedicated rugby league enthusiasts, all focused on seeing the game grow across the nation as the sport celebrates it’s 10-year anniversary in the country.
RLFG General Manager, Jafaru Mustapha, commented “Rugby league has come a long way in Ghana since 2012, but we are ready to take it to the next level.
“We want more players, more coaches, more supporters and of course to be the number one playing rugby league nation in Africa. With the support of Salford Red Devils, we believe this is firmly achievable.”
