CHAN LOVING LIFE AT SALFORD AFTER DEBUT WIN

Tiaki Chan was pleased to get off to a winning start in Salford colours, as the Reds booked their place in the Challenge Cup fourth round.

Despite a nervy start, Paul Rowley’s side turned on the style in the second forty and came out 10-46 winners at the Alexander Stadium.

With our Head Coach limited for personnel due to selection restrictions, some of the squad’s big hitters like Kallum Watkins, Marc Sneyd and Tim Lafai were all afforded the afternoon off.

However, it gave supporters the perfect chance to get a first glimpse of loan signing, Tiaki Chan, who completed a solid 70 minutes in the back row.

Speaking to us for the first time after today’s contest, Chan said: “I played against these last year; one of them teams who have got a nothing to lose mentality, and it’s not that we made it hard on ourselves, they gave us a good battle, and they’re a very strong team who will do well in League One I think.”

Moving on to discuss his first full week with the team, he continued: “I love it here, it’s been really cool – the boys are really good.

“Coaching staff are good too and I’m hoping to learn as much as I can, be a sponge. I can only improve from my last game and that’s the mentality I’m going to go for.”
