Joe Bullock believes there’s a real ‘recipe for success’ with the current set-up as we head into 2025.
The 31-year-old became our latest edition to the playing squad earlier this afternoon, making the switch from Warrington Wolves after a successful loan spell towards the back end of last season.
With over 100 Betfred Super League appearances under his belt, Bullock will be a useful addition to our forward pack and will certainly be an important voice for some of our younger players.
Speaking exclusively to our YouTube channel in the wake of joining Salford, Bullock was keen to point out that there’s also a lot of learning for him as he embarks on his new chapter.
“I’ve made over 100 appearances now and I think I’ve got a lot of experience I can give, a lot of advice I can give to younger players, but there’s also things I can learn off them and the other senior players in the group,” he said.
“I think it’s a really good recipe for success we’ve got at the club at the moment, we’ve got a good blend of older and younger players and I think that’s only going to push us to be successful – it’s an exciting couple of years I think!”
Bullock only made eight appearances during his short loan spell, but it was a move that allowed him to play more regular rugby – a key factor in his decision to sign a two-year deal with the Reds.
“I’m really excited to be here. I came in at the back end of last season and really enjoyed my time here, the lads are all great and the coaching staff are all good, so I’m really on board with where the club wants to go and I’m looking forward to my future here now.
“I’m at the back end of my career, age-wise and I want to be playing regularly, but I also want to be playing good rugby as well.
“I think coming here gives me that opportunity to play, but it also brought what’s good about me, out in my game, so I’m really happy to be here and commit my next two years – it’s exciting times!”
He continued: “Yeah, I really enjoyed it. It’s the way Rowls gets you playing, it suits me and I really enjoyed getting out there and playing in front of the fans as well.
“I think the whole atmosphere was great and the atmosphere at training was good. It was just a positive experience coming here and a pretty easy decision to stay and continue my journey here.”
