We are delighted to announce the first ‘Building the Future’ fixture of the 2024 Betfred Super League season.
Schools will have the opportunity to bring students as part of a school arranged trip to watch Salford Red Devils take on Wigan Warriors at the Salford Community Stadium, on Thursday 14th March.
The ‘Building the Future’ strategy is focused on developing the future generations of Salford Red Devils players and supporters by increasing participation and engagement with rugby league, whilst providing opportunities for the best talent from across the region to move onto a pathway to represent the club in Super League.
The club, in conjunction with the Salford Red Devils Foundation, are working with schools from across the region to inspire young people to maximise their potential on and off the field through the School Partnership programme.
Salford Red Devils Director, Paul Trainor has said: “It is fantastic to welcome the students and staff from schools across Greater Manchester to watch Salford Red Devils at the Salford Community Stadium.
“As a club, we have been delighted with how many schools have attended ‘Building the Future’ games over the past three seasons. Many of the young people who attend our ‘Building the Future’ games are attending their first live sporting experience.
“Live rugby league games are an incredible spectacle with the power, pace and skill on show, combined with the atmosphere created by our fans – making it an unforgettable experience for the students.”
Since its’ launch in 2021, the Building the Future strategy has worked with over 100 schools across Greater Manchester and seen over 7,500 children attend Salford Red Devils games as part of school visits.
