Try-scorer, Amir Bourouh has been reflecting on our Round 2 victory over Castleford Tigers.
The hooker darted under the sticks for our second try of the afternoon, after Sam Stone had powered us into a well-deserved lead.
A special, acrobatic Nene Macdonald effort from Marc Sneyd’s high bomb was a crucial score just before the half-time hooter and Stone’s second after the break proved the difference after 80 minutes.
Discussing the victory, Bourouh said: “Really important one obviously, first of the year for us.
“I’m just glad we got the win in the end. We played into their hands and it was becoming a scrappy game, something we didn’t really want it to be.
“A lot of parts I thought we were really dominant and there’s really good signs from it.”
On his try – a first in Salford colours – the number nine couldn’t help but hide his delight: “It’s been a long time coming, hasn’t it!” he joked.
“That’s my first one, so glad to get it out of the way and hopefully many more.”
