It’s a special ‘Away Day Guide’ this weekend as Salford Red Devils prepare to make the trip up to Newcastle to battle Catalans Dragons at St James’ Park as part of the Dacia Magic Weekend on Sunday 20th May, 1pm kick-off.
However, there is tonnes of Rugby League to take in over the weekend.

There is a total of seven fixtures at this year’s Dacia Magic Weekend including six Betfred Super League games and one Betfred Championship game.

Saturday 19th May
- Toronto Wolfpack vs Toulouse Olympique XIII – 12:45pm.
- Widnes Vikings vs St Helens – 15:00pm.
- Wigan Warriors vs Warrington Wolves – 17:15pm.
- Castleford Tigers vs Leeds Rhinos – 19:30pm.
Sunday 20th May
- Salford Red Devils vs Catalans Dragons – 13:00pm.
- Wakefield Trinity vs Huddersfield Giants – 15:15pm.
- Hull Kingston Rovers vs Hull FC – 17:30pm.
Betfred League One will also be on display on Friday evening at Kingston Park as Newcastle Thunder host Bradford Bulls. More details here.
Ticketing
Salford Red Devils supporters can still purchase tickets from the Club Ticket Office and over the phone on 0161 786 1570 for unreserved seating in the Gallowgate End.
The matchday ticket office – located in the Milburn Stand – will be open on both days:
Saturday: 10:30am – 8pm.
Sunday: 10:30am – 6pm.
Any customer enquiries, pre-paid ticket collections or in person ticket purchases will be possible on match day at the ticket office between the times noted above.
Supporters’ Coach
Anyone travelling on either of our two Salford Red Devils Supporters’ Coaches making the trip up to Newcastle on Sunday are reminded to arrive at their pick-up point with plenty of time.
The pick-up points and times can be seen below:
Chandos Social Club – 7:55am.
Eccles Town Hall – 8:20am.
Dog & Partridge – 8:30am.
The Salford Stadium – 8:45am.
Directions
St James’ Park is easily accessible on foot from Newcastle city centre, just a 10-minute walk from the Central Station. The postcode for the stadium is NE1 4ST.
St James’ Park also has its own station on the Tyne & Wear metro network and is just a two-minute walk from the stadium.

Stadium
The event will take place at St James’ Park – home of Newcastle United Football Club – which holds an impressive 52,354 spectators.

Fanzone
The popular Fan Zone will return for another Dacia Magic Weekend and will be situated to the South of the Stadium, opposite the Sandman hotel.
The Fan Zone will be open between the following times:
Saturday: 11am – 6:30pm.
Sunday: 11am – 5pm.

Dacia – The Magic Weekend sponsor will be joined by ambassadors Paul Sculthorpe MBE and Kylie Leuluai to put fans through their paces by testing reactions with their ‘catch me quick’ game.
Batchelors – will unveil their brand-new passing game alongside popular High Striker game to challenge fans accuracy and strength.
Northern – will be sorting the wheat from the chaff with their nerve-jangling Buzz Wire game.
Patient Claim Line – will place fans in the shoes of the referee to see if they can cut it at the top level with the decision-making game and all-new spinning wheel.
ManVan – will offer free drinks, haircut and beard trims exclusively to Our League members as well as advice on dealing with mental health issues.
Sky Sports FanVan – Scott Quinnell is travelling around Europe in his Sky Sports FanVan motorhome and is bringing it to the Dacia Magic Weekend to meet and talk rugby with fans on Saturday 19th May.
The Fan Zone will also be welcoming a Dacia Magic Weekend unit and stalls from Rugby League cares, Odd Balls, Newcastle Thunder, Rhino Rugby League and many more.
The Fan Zone will be hosted by Alex Simmons from RugbyAM.
Half-time Entertainment
There will loads of action at half-time of each game as well…
Dacia – will be inviting fans on to the field to take on the Dacia #Fairplay ‘Flick and Kick’ trick each day with the chance to win a hospitality experience at the Betfred Super League Grand Final.
Batchelors – are bringing back the ever-popular space-hopper derby before the first and second game each day with a few fans being selected to take part.
Sky Try – will have children from the scheme playing on the St James’ Park pitch at half-time of each match.
Delta Radio – will be playing some of the biggest and best song covers to keep the crowd entertained.

Salford Red Devils will be wearing our Limited-Edition 2018 Dacia Magic Weekend shirt which – with the help of Main Partner Mitsubishi Motors – is supporting the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund almost a year to the day of last year’s tragedy at the Manchester Arena.
