It’s time to vote for your August Player of the Month.
With the race for playoff rugby getting tighter every week, the Reds have got three more finals to secure a spot in the six and potentially a home eliminator.
Last month saw Paul Rowley’s side navigate five tricky Betfred Super League fixtures against Leeds Rhinos, St Helens, Leigh Leopards, Huddersfield Giants and Hull KR.
Two home wins and three away defeats saw the Red Devils reach 28 points, and joint 4th – the highlight a 60-10 thumping of Huddersfield to break a Club record.
Despite some classy team performances, three individuals stood out above the rest.
The first was Shane Wright, who has been a consistent high-performer all season. His versatility has been a huge asset for our Head Coach, with the Aussie often deployed in the back-row as well as prop across August.
Since his arrival at the Club, Joe Mellor has been a huge fan favourite for his quality at hooker.
He scored a crucial winner against the Rhinos, linking up with halfback, Jayden Nikorima on a neat short side play to score career try 101.
Our final nominee and a regular on this monthly list is Ethan Ryan.
The winger does a lot of work that goes unnoticed and has been a regular top performer for Rowley – getting better and better as the seasons’ progressed.
