THE ORIGINAL RED DEVILS

APRIL PLAYER OF THE MONTH NOMINEES REVEALED

It’s time to vote for your April Player of the Month.

Across this period, Paul Rowley’s side secured two wins from their three Betfred Super League games, moving themselves into a congested top six.

The month started with a disappointing defeat at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle, where Salford Red Devils surrendered a healthy lead on two occasions to lose 36-24.

However, we soon bounced back with a hard-fought win in the capital. Skipper, Kallum Watkins and Deon Cross were on target for Salford in a 4-12 victory over London Broncos.

Returning back home, Warrington Wolves visited the Salford Community Stadium on a run of good form.

In and back and forth contest, Danny Walker’s tackle on Ryan Brierley in the was given as a penalty-try and secured a 17-12 victory.

Four players stood out above rest last month, so here are your Player of the Month nominees.

It’ll be no shock for anyone to see Nene Macdonald on this list.

The PNG international has been in exceptional form and a highlight has to be his stunning, full length try against Castleford Tigers in Round 7.

His fellow centre, Tim Lafai is the next nominee.

A game-breaking try against Warrington was crucial in our victory, fending-off multiple players to crash over in the left corner.

Fresh from signing a new two-year deal, Marc Sneyd has received a third consecutive POTM nomination.

The England international has already won this accolade back-to-back – as well as the league’s award for March – and his performances have certainly not dipped ever since.

Our final nominee is Ollie Partington; a consistent, hard-working middle who has been a huge performer for us across April.

Comfortable with ball in hand, the 25-year-old has played his role at 13 perfectly under fierce competition from new signing, Joe Shorrocks.
